Terms of Use
In short
- LPCAD helps you design lightning protection. Its results support your engineering judgement; they do not replace it or a design checked to IEC 62305 and local rules.
- The Free plan analyses buildings of up to 40 vertices. Pro costs USD 20 a month, renews monthly, and can be cancelled at any time.
- We don't store your building models; keep your own copies. We keep only your account details.
- LPCAD's software and its analysis method are ours. Please don't copy, decompile or reverse-engineer them.
This summary is for convenience. The full terms below apply.
1. Who we are
LPCAD ("we", "us") is lightning protection design software provided at this website by Sooriyaarachchige Don Manuja Shamith Gunawardana, 128/14, Munamalgaha Waththa, Honnanthara South, Piliyandala, Sri Lanka. You can reach us at lpcad.support@gmail.com.
By creating an account or using LPCAD you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you use LPCAD for an organisation, you agree on its behalf and confirm that you may do so.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Give accurate details when you sign up and keep them up to date.
- Keep your password private. An account is for one person; don't share it. You are responsible for what is done with your account.
- Tell us straight away at lpcad.support@gmail.com if you think someone else has used your account.
3. Plans, payment and cancellation
Free plan
The Free plan lets you draw buildings of any size and analyse buildings with up to 40 vertices, at no cost.
Pro plan
- Pro costs USD 20 per month, paid in advance by card through Lemon Squeezy, or through PayPal (and, where we offer them, PayHere for card payments in Sri Lanka). Your bank may convert the amount into your card's currency and add its own fees. When you pay through Lemon Squeezy, Lemon Squeezy (Lemon Squeezy, LLC) is the seller of record: it charges you, adds any sales tax or VAT that applies where you live, and its own terms apply to the payment. Where we offer it, in Sri Lanka you can also pay by bank transfer, at the rupee amount shown in LPCAD: Pro is switched on once we receive the transfer, for the months paid, and does not renew by itself. It adds analysis of larger buildings and importing AutoCAD, STL and OBJ geometry.
- Your subscription renews automatically every month until you cancel it: Lemon Squeezy, PayPal or PayHere charges the same payment method each month. If a monthly payment fails, Pro stays on until the end of the month already paid for, and continues only once a payment succeeds.
- You can cancel at any time in LPCAD (the plan button at the top of the app: Cancel subscription, or Manage subscription for Lemon Squeezy), in your PayPal account if you pay through PayPal, or by writing to us. Pro stays active until the end of the month you have paid for, and then your account returns to the Free plan.
- Payments already made are not refunded for part-used months, except where the law requires a refund or where we have made an error. If we refund a payment in full, or a payment is reversed by your bank or card issuer, your subscription is cancelled and Pro ends at once. If LPCAD is unavailable for a long period through our fault, contact us and we will put it right fairly.
- Prices may change. We will email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your subscription, and you can cancel before then.
- Prices do not include taxes (Lemon Squeezy adds any sales tax or VAT that applies at checkout) or bank, card, PayPal or PayHere charges that apply to you.
4. Engineering responsibility
LPCAD applies the rolling-sphere method of IEC 62305-3 to the geometry and settings you provide, and shows where lightning is likely to attach and how air terminals change that. It is a design aid.
- Results depend on the accuracy of your model, the protection class, the sample spacing and other settings you choose. Simplifications, such as converting imported CAD geometry into a closed solid, can change the results.
- LPCAD does not cover every part of a lightning protection system, such as down conductors, earthing, separation distances, surge protection or risk assessment under IEC 62305-2.
- You remain responsible for your designs. Any design used for a real structure must be checked by a suitably qualified person against IEC 62305, SLS standards where they apply, and local regulations.
5. Your content
The buildings you draw, import or analyse are yours. We do not store them on our servers. Reports you create are yours to use as you wish. Because we do not hold copies, keep your own backups of files you want to keep.
6. Fair use and the software
Please don't:
- copy, resell or rent LPCAD, or offer it as part of another service, without our written permission;
- copy, decompile, disassemble or reverse-engineer LPCAD's software, or extract its source code or the way it carries out the analysis, except where the law expressly allows this despite these terms;
- use LPCAD or any part of its code to build a product or service that competes with it;
- remove or hide the copyright notices in LPCAD;
- try to get around the plan limits or the payment system, or to reach parts of the service you are not meant to;
- interfere with the service, overload it on purpose, or attack its security;
- use LPCAD for anything unlawful.
LPCAD, its software (including its source code and the way it carries out the analysis), name and design belong to us and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use LPCAD through this website; they don't transfer ownership or give you any right to its code. If you break these rules we may suspend or close your account, and we may take legal action.
7. Availability and changes to LPCAD
We work to keep LPCAD available and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. We may improve, change or withdraw features. If we stop offering Pro altogether, we will refund any unused part of a month you have paid for.
8. Liability
- LPCAD is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we do not give warranties that it is fit for a particular purpose or that its results are correct for your structure.
- We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, such as loss of profit, business or data, or for damage arising from a design that was not checked as described in section 4.
- Our total liability to you under these terms is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 20 if you have paid nothing.
- Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud.
9. Ending your use
You can stop using LPCAD and delete your account at any time: in LPCAD, click your name at the top of the app and choose Delete my account, or write to lpcad.support@gmail.com and we will do it for you. Deleting your account cancels any Pro subscription first, so no more payments are taken; the rest of a month already paid for is not refunded. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms; where we can, we will tell you first and give you a chance to put things right.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you by email or in LPCAD before it takes effect. The version date is at the top of this page. If you keep using LPCAD after the change, the new terms apply; if you don't agree, you can cancel and close your account.
11. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Colombo have jurisdiction. Before going to court, please write to us so that we can try to resolve the problem. If you live elsewhere, you keep any rights your local consumer law gives you.
